Yes, towels are not provided by the school

Q: Shall I bring kitchen items if I live in a student flat?
No, student flats are supplied with all essential kitchen equipment, including an iron and an ironing board.

Q: Should I bring any gift to my host family?
If you wish you can do so

Q: Is laundry/washing service included in the price of my host family?
The washing of your laundry once per week is included in the price.

Q: Can I receive phone calls in my Instituto de Lenguas Granada's accommodation?
In the student flats there aren't phones. You can receive phone calls when staying with a host family and residences.

Q: Should I communicate my arrival details to Instituto de Lenguas Granada or to my host families?
Yes, you should communicate your arrival details to Instituto de Lenguas Granada before the start of your course in the event of participating in one of our language packages so we can arrange the pick up service. If participating in any other course, you should also inform your host family about the approximated time of your arrival.

Q: Who should I contact in case of problems with the accommodation?
Once you are at the school, the secretary should be the person to turn to for any problems concerning the accommodation.

Q: When can I move into my accommodation?
You will be expected in your accommodation on the Sunday before the beginning of your course and it will be at your disposal until the Saturday after the end of your course. Pay an extra fee you can extend your stay arriving a day before or leaving a day after.

Q: Can I combine two different types of accommodation during my stay with Instituto de Lenguas Granada?
For our package courses of two weeks, this option is not available. For longer stays, yes, without any problem.

Q: On average, what is the distance between the accommodations and the school?
We guarantee a maximum walking distance of about 25/30 minutes

Classes

Q: What is the maximum number of students per class?
In all our courses the maximum number of students per class is 7. That means that the average number of students per class is likely to be even less than 7!

Q: Are class materials provided by the school?
Yes, all study material is provided by Instituto de Lenguas Granada at no extra cost.

Q: How are classes scheduled?
In the standard courses you will have a minimum of four hours of classes each day. The classes last for 55 minutes each, and take place from 9 am to 20 pm. You could have classes in the morning and/or the afternoon. This will depend on several elements (the current groups, your level, type of course, etc). We offer you 3 free hours of extracurricular activities for morning courses.

Q: Can I take individual classes at Instituto de Lenguas Granada?
Yes you can. Besides group courses, we offer you one-to-one classes at all levels. You can also request information on non-specific language content, such as literature, business, or any other subject. The price is 16 euros/hour for one student. .

Leveles

Q: Which levels of Spanish does Instituto de Lenguas Granada offer? We work with the four traditional levels from Instituto Cervantes in combination with the six levels of the European Common Reference Framework for Language (Council of Europe): Beginner (A1 + A2), Intermediate (B1), Advanced (B2).

Q: When should I pay for my course?
For programme packages, the following method of payment is provided:

Enrolling

Registration is confirmed once Instituto de Lenguas Granada has received the signed and completed registration form, 2 photographs, and payment. Payment should be made in cash or through a bank transfer. You are responsible for any bank transfer fees.

The student name must be clearly stated in all the documents related to the transaction. In the event of cancelling the course, with the exception of a 200 euros cancellation fee, reimbursement for courses will be made up to 7 days before the start of the program. After this period reimbursement is not possible.

Accommodation : Reservations must be made at least 4 weeks prior to the date of arrival. Advanced payment for accommodation is required.

Cancelling Accommodation: Cancellations must take place at least 3 weeks before the date of arrival. Reimbursement will not be possible after this deadline.

Pick-up service

Q: Will there be someone to meet me at the airport?
For those students participating in a language package programme, a school representative will meet you in the Málaga or Granada Airport and will accompany you to the chosen accommodation in a taxi. Prices from Málaga's Airport are 100 Euros; from Granada's Airport are 26 Euros and from Granada's Bus Station are 10 Euros.

Q: What detail do I need to give Instituto de Lenguas Granada in order to take advantage of a pick up service?
You will have to give us the details of the date and time of arrival, Airlines and flight number.

Q. Who should I contact if I have any problem at my arrival?
After your enrolment is confirmed, you will be given a mobile phone number and a contact name to inform about any delay or any unexpected situation.

Visa

Q: Do I need Student Visa?
European Union Citizens do not need any Visa; citizens of Australia, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and USA don't need VISAS for tourist visits of up to 90 days. Students from any other country should ask the Spanish consulate in their country for appropriate information.

Excursions and Extra Scholar Activities

Q: Is there any extra scholar activity including in the price of my course at Instituto de Lenguas Granada?
Yes, we organise the following activities free of charge in the afternoon:
(We have different activities every week).
- Monday: meeting appointment in the town. We will show you the new town. Tapas tour
- Tuesday: Visit to Alhambra and Generalife palaces. (Tickets are not included).
- Wednesdays: Individual tutor with the teacher
- Thursday: Cine at school. You will be shown a Spanish film in Spanish with debates and comments.
- Friday: Visit to the Alcaiceira (ancient silk market), Albaycin and Sacromonte (ancient araba and gipsy quarters). At 18:30 Flamenco show. (Tickets are not included).

Q: Does Instituto de Lenguas Granada offer excursions?
Yes, excursions are usually organised on Saturdays (they will have to be paid separately at the school) or weekend group excursions based on student's preferences.

Although there is a medical, accident and luggage insurance policy, included in our language package programmes covering the whole Spanish territory, we advise all citizens of the EU to bring the E111 document. We recommend that students from other countries take out a medical insurance policy in their country of origin.
